Getting started
Which Shopify plan do I need?
Your shop needs third-party carrier-calculated shipping. That is Shopify’s rule for every app that adds shipping options at checkout, so no pickup point app works without it.
Shopify includes it on the Advanced and Plus plans. On the Grow plan you can add it for a monthly fee, or get it by switching to annual billing. See Shopify’s help page.
If your plan lacks it, the app’s main page tells you, and your free trial is the time to sort it out.
Which carriers and countries are supported?
- GLS: Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Italy.
- PostNord: Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and France.
- Bring: Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland.
- dao: Denmark.
You set up each carrier per country, so you can offer different carriers in different countries.
Do I need an agreement with the carrier?
Not to show pickup points. The app looks up the nearest points for you.
To create labels in the app, you need your own carrier account and enter its details on the carrier’s page in the app: GLS user name, password and contact ID; Bring user ID, API key and agreement number; PostNord customer number; dao user ID and API key.
How do I set it up?
- Install the app from the Shopify App Store.
- On the app’s main page, choose a carrier, for example Setup GLS, then Add GLS Shipping.
- Choose the country, and set the title, description, price and how many pickup points to show. The Checkout Example shows the result as you type.
- Save, and follow any message on the app’s main page until it shows none.
- Test it: add a product to your cart and enter an address in that country at checkout.
The video guide shows every step in four minutes.
At checkout
Why are no pickup points shown at checkout?
Check these, in this order:
- The app’s main page shows no warning. It tells you when your plan lacks carrier-calculated shipping, when the app’s rate is not yet in your shipping settings, or when no carrier is active.
- A setup is active for the country the customer ships to.
- The basket’s weight is within the setup’s weight limits.
- The address is one the carrier can find. A misspelt street or postcode can return no points.
- Shopify remembers shipping options for the same address and basket for up to 24 hours. Test a change with another address or another product.

In what order are the shipping options shown?
Shopify decides the order, not the app. Shopify shows the lowest price first, and options with the same price alphabetically. Shopify also selects the first option for the customer; an app cannot turn that off.
Can I change the texts my customers see?
Yes. Each setup has a title and a description, and tags in square brackets are filled in for each pickup point: [name], [address], [zip], [city], [km], [id], [country] and [counter].
The defaults are GLS Pakkeshop ([km] km): [name] and [address], [zip] [city]. Shopify shows the description under each option.
How many pickup points are shown?
The nearest 3 by default. You can choose from 1 to 20 per setup.
Can I offer home delivery as well?
Yes. Each setup has a home delivery option with its own title, description, price, free-shipping limit and weight limits. It is off until you turn it on.
Can I show only PostNord parcel lockers, or only in-store points?
In Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland, yes. Choose MyPack Collect (in-store pickup points), MyPack Box (parcel lockers) or all of them. In the other countries PostNord shows all types.
Keep one active setup per type: two setups of the same type show every point twice.
What if a carrier’s service is down?
The other carriers’ pickup points are still shown. If the app returns no options at all, Shopify shows your backup rates, if you have set them up in Shopify.
Prices and rules
How are shipping prices calculated?
You set a fixed price for pickup points and another for home delivery, per carrier and country. The app does not calculate prices from weight.
Almost every shop works this way: the price depends on your own agreement with the carrier, and is usually a bit above what you pay.
Can I offer free shipping above an amount?
Yes. Set a free-shipping amount on the setup. When the order total, after discounts and taxes, is above it, the price becomes 0. Set it to 0 to turn it off.
Can I hide pickup points for heavy orders?
Yes. Set a maximum (and, if you like, a minimum) weight in whole kilos on the setup. Orders outside the limits do not get that option. 0 means no limit.
Which currency are the prices in?
Each setup has its own currency, by default the country’s: DKK, SEK, NOK or EUR. The app does not convert prices, so set the price in the currency the setup uses.
I ship from several locations. What should I know?
When products in an order are in different shipping profiles or ship from different locations, Shopify adds up a shipping fee per item and shows the customer only the total. Read Shopify’s guide to shipping profiles before you set it up.
Local pickup, business delivery, freight or custom shipping?
The app handles pickup points and home delivery. Set up any other kind of shipping with Shopify’s own shipping settings, and handle its labels outside the app.
Orders, labels and tracking
How do I create a shipping label?
Enter your carrier account details in the app first (see Do I need an agreement with the carrier?). Then open the order in Shopify, choose More actions and Create Shipping Label. You get the label as a PDF.
Labels work for GLS, Bring, PostNord and dao, for parcels up to 20 kg (10 kg for dao) and orders up to 60 days old.
Do my customers get a tracking number?
Yes, if you turn on customer notification on the carrier’s page in the app. The tracking number is added to the order’s fulfilment when you create the label, so fulfil the order first, then create the label.
Can the pickup point’s address go into the order’s shipping address?
Yes, with Update Shipping Address on the setup. When the order is placed, the shipping address is replaced by the pickup point’s name and address. Useful if another system only reads the shipping address.
Leave it off if you create labels in the app: the app already knows the chosen point.
Does it work with my dropshipping partner or other systems?
Several dropshipping providers already support the app, so you may not need to do anything.
Any system can read the chosen pickup point from the order’s shipping_lines.code field. The format is [carrier]_parcelshop_[pickup point id], for example postnord_parcelshop_3953.
Billing
What does the app cost?
18.95 USD every 30 days, billed through your Shopify invoice. The first 10 days from your first install are free. Reinstalling does not start a new trial.
How do I cancel?
Uninstall the app. Shopify stops the payments when you uninstall.
Your settings are kept, so if you come back, everything is ready. You approve the subscription again when you reinstall.
